I'm the one that bought the 16 x 12 Star Sunstone. I was surprised that it weighted 16 carats until I saw how deep it was. I bought it to put in a stock 16 x 12 setting I had but when I took it to my local jeweler it stuck up so far the prongs couldn't hold it and it looked terrible. He suggested I either find a really deep setting or cut the stone to make it shallow enough to fit a standard setting. The top part that is polished is thin enough to allow for such a cut. So, I have several questions: Do you have a setting deep enough to hold the stone? I can text photos if you do not remember the stone. Or, do you have the capability of cutting the stone to fit a standard setting? I can send both the stone and the standard setting back to you. I paid $70 for the stone and expected to pay $20 more to have the jeweler put it in the setting, so I hope this does not cost me a lot more to fix the problem. Please let me know what you can do.
